Black Creek Archery Tournament

Saturday – April 27th 2019

This tournament has been postponed to Saturday, 27 April 2019. Archery tournament for youth (9-18 yrs old) and adults hosted by Noccalula Falls Park on Saturday, 27 April 2019. 3D and FITA classes. Youth winners will receive awards + prizes and half of the adult registration fees will be paid out amongst the adult winners.

Smoke on the Falls, presented by Parks and Recreation Department is back at the Noccalula Falls Park Campground.  The highlight of the weekend is the KCBS certified Barbecue contests pitting 48 teams through the Professional and Backyard division.

Christmas at the Falls - November 28-December 23 & December 26 2019- January 5th 2020 5-9 p.m.

Come celebrate the holiday season with Noccalula Falls and the City of Gadsden at Christmas at the Falls.  Enjoy millions of lights throughout the park with spectacular views from the paved walking trails or from the vantage of a ride on the park’s train.  During your visit to see the light displays, including several new features, you can stop for activities like cookie decorating, visit the petting zoo, and sip on some hot chocolate. While at Christmas at the Falls don’t miss a visit with Santa Claus, take a picture, and even drop a letter to the North Pole in Santa’s special mailbox at the Old Post Office in the Pioneer Village.

Christmas at the Falls runs nightly from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and kicks off on Thanksgiving evening at 5 p.m. and runs through January 5th, 2020. We will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Tickets can be purchased at the Noccalula Falls Entry Pavilion each day starting at 4 p.m. or online. Weather conditions can cause the closure of Christmas at the Falls as the train cannot run in inclement weather.  Weather closures will be posted on social media channels and can be confirmed by phone at 256-549-4663.

2019 Pricing: $8 Monday-Thursday / $10 Friday-Sunday (Ages 4 and up, 3 and under are free.)

A variety of special events will happen throughout the run of Christmas at the Falls adding further excitement and treats for visitors at no additional cost.

Halloween Super Bash

October 5th, 2019

The Gadsden Parks and Recreation Department would like to cordially invite you to the 8th Annual Halloween Super Bash. The event will take place Saturday, October 5  from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. at Noccalula Falls Park located at 1500 Noccalula Road, Gadsden, AL 35904.  This family-friendly event will offer fun interactive games, inflatables, balloons with Big Sam, bobbing for apples, a pumpkin toss, food vendors, and much more! The first 500  to enter the Halloween Bash will receive free trick-or-treat candy, so be sure to come early.

Attendees of all ages are encouraged to wear their costumes to get in the true spirit of Halloween. In addition to the other various fall activities, the C.P. Huntington train will be taking riders through the park. The petting zoo will also be open for attendees to visit the llamas, goats, rabbits, and more. Don’t be a scaredy cat, you will not want to miss out on all the fun!

Tickets for the event are $6 per person for adults and children ages four and older. Tickets  can be purchased in advance online here or in person at the event.  Please note, season passes are not valid for the Halloween Super Bash.

The Halloween Super Bash will be followed by a double feature of Halloween movies on the front lawn at the park entrance. Admission to the movies is free. Popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase.

'G' Tractor Show

OCTOBER 11-12, 2019


Come celebrate the history of the Allis-Chalmers “G” tractor, which once was built in Gadsden. The Weiss Lake Power Association along with the City of Gadsden will present the “G” Roundup Antique Tractor Show. The show will be held at Noccalula Falls Campground. Vendors and all styles of tractors welcome. Admission $5.00

Wheels on the Hill

This event is a continuation of an ongoing show that had been held at Noccalula Falls Park and Campground for 25 years. This show hosts more than 300 vendors with vintage car parts, memorabilia, and other car items for sale or trade. There are also plenty of spectacular vehicles on display. Vendors and music will add to the festival atmosphere. 

Join the many families and friends who have made a tradition of coming together for this wonderful  event. 

Gates are open 8-5 everyday with admission is $3.00 (children 3 and younger free) Proceeds  go to the Humane Society Pet Rescue & Adoption Center

Barbarian Challenge

Barbarian Challenge June 15th 2019

Thrill-seeking athletes who are not afraid of getting muddy, wet, or pushed to the limit will be taking part in Gadsden’s Barbarian Challenge- a several mile obstacle course run through Noccalula Falls Park. 

The course consists of over 25 natural and man-made obstacles up and down Lookout Mountain including rope climbs, mud pits, creek crossings, and hill climbs. Some obstacles have names, like the Weave, or the Sternum Checker. Costumes of all kinds are encouraged.

The Barbarian Challenge is for those 12 and older and participants can compete individually or as a team. Anyone under the age of 15 must have their parent or guardian present to sign a consent waiver and run with them. In addition to the race, there will be music and food vendors selling barbarian-inspired food.
